Pastor’s Corner

Dear Church Family,

I have to confess to you in regard to my faithfulness to read through God's Word consistently. After my last reading the Bible through in at least a year, I found myself somewhat lethargic. Certainly I was studying for sermons and lessons, and reading really good works for growth and enhancement. But there is something irreplaceable in steadily reading all of God's Word consistently and in timeliness. I sensed something missing. A greater strength, a greater rest, a greater joy! In a personal assessment by the Holy Spirit, I was able to put my finger on the problem. Praise the Lord! By His grace I'm back on track! Not just devotional tidbits, randomly ordered with emotional appeal, but the raw, unadulterated, transforming power of God's Word, with its content in its context! Thank you for being a faithful sounding board through this newsletter. Revived and ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, I feel like Caleb ready to claim mountains against all odds, yet only by the mercy and power of the Holy Spirit.
Maybe you've grown lethargic in faithful reading of all God's Word in book after book consistently with a commitment to timeliness. If so, come along with me in what is promised to us for spiritual renewal and vitality!
